393rd Birth anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj being celebrated

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Feb 19 (UNI) Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's 393rd birth anniversary is being celebrated on Sunday with traditional fervour and enthusiasm in the city as well as all across the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Across the Marathwada region that comprises of eight districts, various programmes have been organized on the occasion of the great icon's birth anniversary by the various sections of societies including political, non political, social and school students. In Aurangabad, since morning various organisations, Shivpremis are visiting the Kranthi Chowk and paying tribute to the tallest statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Entire city is seen wearing a saffron blanket including flags, banners and posters on this occasion. Various programs have been organized on behalf of the Shiv Mahostav committee from 08:00 am to 10:00 pm today. Flag Hoisting and Salutation Program was organized in front of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at Kranti Chowk this morning which was attended by Union Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad. On this occasion founder president of Ustav Committe Pruthviraj Pawar and president Harshavardhan Karad among others were present. Later this evening Shiv Geet and cultural program will be held on sound projection from 6 pm to 10 pm.
